Barefoot Horses and Racing Barefoot racing is not something new. There are several trainers who run horses barefoot. The reason why we chose barefoot is based on many years of experience, research and hands-on rehab. We believe that when a horse can run barefoot, the risk of injury is greatly reduced, simply because of the lack of shoes. Shoes add shock and pressure to joints and bones when running at high speeds, that the hoof could naturally absorb if it was unshod. The result, many times, is "unexplained" breakdown, bowed tendons, fractures and other injuries, both minor and major. Additionally, from an owner's standpoint, your farrier bills will be greatly reduced. Also, our years of experience and expertise are utilized daily: Your horse will receive first class hoof care, always.
